Happy Friday!

Today you will be writing your second blog post. One of the things that we will be practicing through our 20% project is our public speaking skills. You will give a short speech for your Pitch Presentation and a longer one for your TED talk.

In today's blog post, I would like for you to discuss your feelings about speaking in front of a group of people. How do you feel about public speaking? What prior experiences do you have speaking to groups of people? Have you done presentations in class? Maybe spoken to larger groups? What fears do you have when talking in front of group?

What makes someone a good speaker? What are some qualities that a speaker has that make you want to listen?

Today you will spend some time reading your classmates blogs. As I have said before, it's no fun to keep a blog if no one is going to read it. Access at least three other people's blogs and comment on there ideas for the 20% Project. Your comments can include words of encouragement, questions, or even suggestions.

After you have finished reading and commenting on blogs, you will need to begin work on your Pitch Poster. Remember this is your plan for how you want to accomplish you're goal. You will use this as the visual in your Pitch Presentation. We will record our pitches on October 13 and then watch them the following week. You have today and next Friday to get your poster completed and practice making your pitch.

Today you will need to accomplish three things in your 20% time. First, you will need to share your blog address with me. Second you need to decide for sure what you are going to be learning during your 20% time. You must confirm your idea with me before you start your pitch planning sheet. So... by the end of today your should

• Have shared your blog address with me
• Have decided on a topic for your 20% project
• Have shared your topic with me
• Have begun working on your pitch planning sheet
